Here's some interesting stuff. I looked at some of the older logs. I changed my ini to:

TUNING_TYPE=ATSC
TUNING_SPECIAL=3
FILTER_TUNER=BDA 2870 TVTuner
FILTER_CAPTURE=BDA 2870 TVTuner
PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0
PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport
PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport

In the logs (attached) show a much improved outlook. Scanning is going now.

Hope you guys get it working. I have two laying around that I'd like to use for QAM. The UB435Q is "supposedly" identical to the KWorld 340U. There is a monster thread re trials and tribulations of getting the 340U stick to work with QAM... looked like a PITA to me. So I bought two HVR-950Q's, which work perfectly for QAM. They do, however, cost $20 more (eBay vs Newegg).

TUNING_SPECIAL=3 will definitely not work.

You might need to search for that 340U thread referred to above. Its most likely got valuable insights that apply to your device too.

I did find that thread, and made some reg changes and i can get DVBTuner to tune to a channel now, but GVpvr still won't scan. I see this in the log:

It appears its having a hard time getting the device to actually tune a frequency.
