I go into config, hit Capture Sources --> Edit --> Recording Source, and then trying "High Quality". I hit save....but when I come back, it's always back to "Medium Quality" ?

Does the user setting stick, and it just goes to Medium in the list for fun....ir does it not stick ?

Cheers...Barry

P.S. Anyone got some advice for the best settings for the ATI Theatrix 550 chip ?....got the Sapphire card installed, running GB-PVR (much smoother than SnapStream I have to say...kudos !).....looking fo rthe best picture quality I can muster !

medium = default

it will always use medium, you can change the bitrate of medium to a higher setting if you want.

If it will always default to medium (even after supposedly saving another one)...why have more than one at all ????

It only uses the default (medium) if you do a "quick record", otherwise you can specify any quality profile you want when you're in the process of scheduling your recording.

You can change the *value* of, for example, "high" quality, to be something else than what it is. So, when you eventually make a recording, and you choose "high", *that* value will be used.
This means, that if you always want a better quality, then you should change the value of the "medium" quality (since this is always used as default for a recording). Hope I make sense.
