Working mediaMVP documentation and trying out all the functions, I can repeatedly crash the mediaMVP server when using the fast forward 1 min.

Here is one of errors reported by the .net framework:

See the end of this message for details on invoking
just-in-time (JIT) debugging instead of this dialog box.

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just in time (JIT) debugging, the config file for this
application or machine (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
<system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the machine
rather than being handled by this dialog.

I have seen this occur a few times.

When I first start playing back a file, I parse the end of the file looking for the last timestamp (length in seconds). When the user selects to skip 60 seconds (from guessed position above), I divide the file length by the duration, then multiple by the new position in seconds. This gives me an approximate part of the file to move to. This also generally works, but can be a few seconds short or long. It works better for constant bitrate files than variable.

I think I'm occasionally reading this last timestamp incorrectly, or it is incorrect in the file, resulting in unexpected results when skipping. The software is currently not very fault tolerant to the situation. It doesnt happen on all files.

sub, It seems to be only happening with the mediaMVP. The same file played file on the PC with fast forward, skip 1 min, etc. But it crashes every time I tried on the mediaMVP.

Yes. I only have to do the manual timestamp stuff on the MVP. For this particular file, something about the timestamp is causing me to read it incorrectly.
