We dont have them in our EPGs here, so I dont think about them too much.

Just curious then, how do you differentiate between different episodes of the same show? Is it just part of the title, or part of the description?

excellent.. it's how i tell if i've seen a show or not, and where they belong in timeline if recorded out of order..
series here tend to use them alot, and sometimes have little inside jokes or the guests noted in them..

oh and several files show no info in video library, and i confirmed they all have it attached and same format..
some dirs only show 2 with info and the rest blank...even tho they all show in pvrx2...
maybe related to the 'root node missing' errors in logs but i can't figure out the difference in the metadata.xml..they all look same to me..

confirmed, but it only shows the error when i try to play said file..?

is this cuz it's trying to find the reference in epg data and can't?
i still can't find a pattern to what files show data and which don't...
