ParaLED with PCI based Parallel I/O

It seems that ParaLED uses software that only works with parallel ports that are part of the motherboard. Unfortunately, my computer did not come with any serial or parallel port built into the motherboard. I had to add a PCI card that provides one parallel and two serial ports.

ParaLED, or more specifically, the combination of ParaLED and Inpout32.dll do not work with this type of parallel port, even if I change the port address. Has anyone come up with a solution to this problem?

could it just be the mode of the port epp ecp can it be set ?
heres a snip from someone else having trouble thy used base address of card instead of the lpt port

In Windows 7 I haven't seen how to change the SPP/ECP.

ParaLED lets you identify the port's base address and it doesn't help.

Strange as it may seem, PCI based parallel ports are "virtual" ports and do not act the same way as a parallel port that was part of the motherboard hardware.
