While i waited for the kettle to boil I just did this. I think I placed it right as should not interfere with any existing wiki pages but can be referenced to with a link from other pages, in infancy but I think a simple table should suffice, if any of us knew what to put in it ...

[Edit] should have said only obviously given system requirements as first heading, as many headings as needed, and all could probably be much better laid out [End edit]

An example is given the page is set up but we all can tweak!

In retrospect, the decision to wait for a new wiki is killing me. I don't have or forsee a home for my updates on Web Radio and anything new I might do and and it will distract new users from a lot of good information (ie the section on on the NMT) that is still 100% relevant. The should be room for NPVR within the existing wiki framework, just like there is for GBPVR and PVRx2

Yes I understand your thoughts here. I would argue that clarification between GBPVR when it met PVRX2 on the wiki was by no means perfect and now to simply drop N-PVR in as well could serve to overly-complicate and 'mess' the wiki badly. It seems to me that in some respects N-PVR is a very different beast from GB-PVR. But that is perhaps only my view!

BUT having said all of that I get your point here 100% and think there is indeed latitude within the existing wiki framework to enable this that I believe could be easily implemented.

Would a simple 'holding page' on the wiki for N-PVR suffice for now? Links could lead from that page to new content (and I would recommend creating new content on a page where possible that could of course refer back again to any existing wiki entries? Does that make sense?

cheers

Well, Steeb repeatedly said here he can't because he just does not have the knowledge. So I hope your message is addressed to the developers, and not to him.

Hi Pieter

To clarify, what I do not have is the knowledge of anything to do with N-PVR (for instance populating the fields in the comparison table) but I (hope) I do have the knowledge to create pages etc on the wiki. I'm just checking that whatever I do does not mess up the exisitng wiki and will be easy to port to any 'new wiki'.

very best

I'd prefer to be able to update the Web Radio page and note the version 3 is for NPVR and version 2 is no longer supported. The wiki would be best served if all the old GBPVR pre-Skin2 skins and plugins was simply eliminated.

I've just re-read your post a couple of times to make sure I've understood. I don't disagree with 2. at all but don't see a need to focus on this currently. I think the pressing issue is 1.

Now IF I have understood correctly I just cannot see how the existing wiki structurally 'as it is' could take what you are suggesting? You edit the 'Web Radio' page within gbpvr.com/pmwiki which exists solely for gbpvr and refer to what else, N-PVR? Your current page indicates compatibility with PVRX2, I still wonder how easy it is to find what that means on the wiki? I'm not being difficult, just trying to find a solution that works for all!

I hope I've explained myself correctly and that I read your post right

Why should the Web Radio plugin page be solely for PVXx2? Adding one line is the main change.

The WebRadio plugin version 3.x is compatible with NPVR

Just to note, early GBPVR.exe plugins are able to run under PVRX2.exe with proper skinning and setup. But that task was for the "Die Hards", or those who liked the Xrecord Suite of plugins, Jukebox, and a very few others.
