Just a question about setup.

With gbpvr I can go into source setup and change the hardware tuner with just a couple of clicks - keeping the channels and tuning data.
I've used this on occasion to both swap from a dead PVR150 to a plug-in USB tuner (and back) and also to shift the software to a backup machine with slightly different tuners. A couple of clicks and all channels and recordings stay fine.

With npvr it would appear that the tuner setup stays with the tuner name (although I don't have the opportunity to try it out as yet - my USB PVR is out on loan).

When you put your other tuner back in and go to setup. Just click the setup button for the new tuner and you will get a popup saying that you have an existing setup for that type of tuner (analog, DVT, ATSC, etc). It will ask if you want to copy the existing settings, just say yes and you're done.

OK thanks for that. I was hoping that was the case just like DVB-T ones, but with my "spare" out on loan couldn't check.
I've just spotted the "enable" tickbox in there as well, so it looks like worries were unfounded.... Getting closer....

The new clone-tuner feature is great, but how will it cope once you've got a running setup and things change - say a new channel comes along or some frequencies change? Would you have to then add that channel to each tuner individually? Or maybe just do it to one, then delete the others and reclone them perhaps?

Yeah you would need to add it to each one or reclone. Personally, I just reclone since it's so simple.

@ martin123: You don't even need to worry about the enable tickbox. NextPVR will automatically detect if a tuner is present in the system or not.

Ah, that is a nice improvement, I will have to have a play to see when it is detected (schedule or at record time). It could be most useful for my occasional problems with a USB tuner not coming out of standby/hibernate and fallback to an old RF device.
