I'm sorry sub, I got past the actual "Device Failed to Start" error when I reinstalled the drivers and I did get to the "scan" window.
andematt Wrote:So I installed the latest drivers and the AverMedia media center because I remember when I was first setting these cards up with gbpvr I think the avermedia mc ended up copying something that was required. The quality is 0% on all channels though... But yes I do see 'AVerMedia M780 PCIe BDA ATSC Tuner 2' on the devices screen.

Does anyone have any other ideas for me? Has anyone heard of Win7 media center interfering somehow? I've gone back through and followed johnsonx42's suggested setup but I'm still not getting any channels to show up in the scan.
Thanks in advance for anything I can try out.

First, please be clear - are you trying to tune analog or digital? Currently you have only digital devices showing in NPVR setup.
Also, please refer to the sticky thread linked in my sig, find filtercheck in post 3 and run it. zip the resulting log file and post it. Please also see the section in post 1 about posting logs in .zip format.

Yep, as I mentioned in a previous post I'm trying to get the analog side to work - just using standard cable here that is still analog (mostly). I don't know why I was thinking that ATSC was the analog part - sorry. I have the entry sub suggested in my AnalogDevices.xml though.
Sorry about the 7zip files too - was just trying to minimize my 'attachment footprint'.

There's usually nothing wrong with 7z files, johnsonx42 you should seriously look into supporting the formats this forum does. The integration is very easy.
For analog you need to have the Hauppauge SoftPVR software installed. If you don't have hardware encoding there is a big hit on the PC. Martin

The m780s have hardware encoding. I've registered all three of the ax files in the hauppauge file supplied in a post here. There's some other Hauppauge thing I should try to install? I thought the mux was they only thing needed.

I admit my little thing about .zip files for logs is not entirely reasonable, but "pet peeves" rarely are. Andematt need not be sorry about the 7zip files however, I'm apparently the only unreasonable one around here.

Ehh, no big deal - I look at server and app log files (seems like) all day, everyday and I prefer my own way of retrieving and reviewing them too.
See anything in the filter check?

yep, put this in your AnalogDevices.xml:
Code: <Device filter="AVerMedia M780 PCIe Audio/Video Capture 1">
