I gather that Hauppauge does not support the WinTV PVR2 USB2 under Windows 7. Does anyone have any experience trying to run this hardware under Windows 7? Would the NPVR software work under Windows 7?

I'm using a "Hauppauge PVR USB2 AVS Video Capture" USB analogue tuner with Win7 32bit and it seems to work fine.
Driver version is 6.1.103.28028 dated 28/01/2010 Works with npvr without problem.

Wow! You have 6.1 from January of this year?
When I go here http://hauppauge.com/site/support/support_usb2.html all I see is 1.1, from 2005! How did you find your driver? Are we talking about the same thing? And are you talking about the driver release number, or are you talking about the NPVR release number? I thought that I had to supply the correct driver, and then that NPVR did the rest.

Newer drivers than 2005 can be found here: http://hauppauge.com/site/support/support_pvrusb2.html

sub: thanks! Those are from 2007. I doubt that they support Win 7
martin123: thanks for the link! So, you're using WinTV V7, which costs extra. Given the quality of the old Hauppauge software, I'm not sure I want to "invest" more there. I've almost got NPVR working under Win XP; I doubt that it will work under Win 7 without modern drivers. NPVR requires manufacturer drivers in order to function, right? Interesting that Hauppauge support and sales claims that the Win TV USB2 device will not work under Win 7. It's all a bit confusing.

No I'm not using wintv v7. Neither did I pay for the CD. I'll have a further delve, as I'm sure it was a free download for the verison I'm using.
NOTE - I'm on 32 bit windows 7. I'm fairly sure when they say unsupported they mean in 64 bit Windows. You are right in that both gbpvr and npvr require hardware drivers to interface to the hardware.

I've just gone through my firfox download history (good job I'm not neat and tidy things up) and found the driver download I seem to be using:-
