Anyone using HDHR in ATSC/OTA mode with Npvr?

Can anyone tell me if they are successfully running Npvr with an HDHomerun tuner using ATSC OTA? I have been trying for several weeks to get my system running, but successive recordings always fail. Is this working for anyone else? I'm hoping to get a clue as to how to resolve the problem (refer to threads http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...ion-1.5.28 and http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?...s-Programs)

No problem at all. Don't know why I didn't try this earlier, but I also have a laptop running Windows 7, so earlier today I installed the HDHR software and Npvr, loaded up a few channels and tried LiveTV. I get the same problem - the first time I run LiveTV it is OK, the second time I get the error about not being able to communicate with the recording service. I'm also going to try a WinXP system later this weekend to see if I get the same results.

K, I did a quick trial run and here are my results:

Downloaded and installed 1.5.28
Downloaded and installed latest HDHR beta.
Detected and scanned fine in NPVR.
LiveTV worked.
Quick Record didn't do anything.

I had to stop because nightly shows will soon be recording so I needed the tuners available. Once they are finished for the night, I'll double check everything (vcredist, DirectX, etc) and if it still doesn't work, I'll provide sub with extensive logs and problem details.

I tried this setup on a WinXP system last night. I was not able to test LiveTV (display card limitations) but recording two programs simultaneously fails on this system also.

My above issues were due to something on my machine. I completely uninstalled NPVR, deleted all folders and registry keys, and deleted the "NPVR Recording Service" (you can use "sc delete" for this). Once I reinstalled and setup my HDHR in ATSC mode, I was able to record two shows simultaneously. I did have an issue with the DVB EPG but I'll lay that one out for sub when I get a chance to retask the tuners again.

Can you post the logs from the XP machine? I'm curious if they show anything different.

Thanks so much for all the trouble you went to (although I was really hoping it would not work for you ). I do get different symtoms on the XP system. There are no system crashes, just hangups. When I start the first recording everything is fine. When I start the 2nd recrording, I get about an additional 20 MB of both recordings and then both streams stop. I can then cancel one of the two recordings normally (although the other does not continue on when I do this). When I try to cancel the 2nd recording Npvr hangs and must be forcefully terminated. Attached are the logs, but from what I can see they do not seem to contain much into. Thanks again for your help. I'm now more determined than ever to get this running on my system. Can't wait to try out the new skipping functionality!

Also, don't know if this helps or not - but on the Windows 7 system I never have a problem recording 2 programs if they are on the same physical channel. The problems only occur when Npvr needs to switch to a different tuner.
