nPVR - "mini guide" overlay while watching Live TV

I don't know if this has been mentioned already, but is the "mini-guide" that overlays on top of live TV in GBPVR on the to-do list for nPVR?

if not.. here's my official "wish" for it.

Yep, same here. I'd tweaked the skin in GBPVR (actually possibly even just copying the full guide's skin over the mini guide's) so that it popped up full screen with more channels, and that's all we ever use now. The TV guide on the main menu is rarely looked at.

It's not as much as a mini guide as it doesn't contain the show information but if you press the up arrow while in live tv, a guide type popup will appear in which you can move up and down the channel list to see the current and next show scheduled by titles only.

The mini-guide in GBPVR was what was shown when you pressed Ctrl-G, and is replaced my the mini-guide shown when you press up/down in live tv on npvr. What you're talking about is the full guide.

It may reappear in a future version. I've put zero thought into it at this stage.

How viable would it be for one of us to implement it as a plugin? I haven't yet looked at what you can do as a video overlay, but I seem to recall you mentioned it was possible in one of the change logs.

I can also imagine it being very very hard though, as there's a hell of a lot of functionality in the guide.

Yes, someone could implement this in a plugin if they wanted to. I as I said though, the feature may reappear in a future build.

It's nice to know it's still a possible option for the future, and if not, it's equally nice (if a little daunting) to know it's doable as a plugin.

I have to say that I find the lack of this feature in npvr really annoying so I hope it appears sooner than later. When flicking through channels looking for something worth watchign, the guide is perfect for saying what a prog or film is about that the name only is useless for. it's not remotely practical to back out of liveTV and check the TV guide decide it looks crap and start all over...
