thanks sub! dont get me wrong, I'm sure lots of us want the "old" way back, but in a pinch this will do very nicely

The only minor niggle I found with it is if you move to another show and hit the Play button on the remote, the new channel starts playing but the guide doesn't go away. I would also like it if the F1 button was a toggle; F1 to call the Guide, F1 again to make it go away (in addition to the escape/back button).
As to sgilani's comment about the 'old way', I actually prefer the full size guide overlay. More importantly I like that it's full function; that is, hitting OK on a show brings up a show details box, which also allows recordings and hopefully in the future search functionality (Find All). It seems an obvious solution to those who would prefer a partial-screen guide would be to allow the skin to provide a different xml for the overlay guide; maybe make it a config.xml parameter settable in Settings; set it to Full and it uses the same xml as the regular TV guide, set it to Small and it uses an alternate xml.

I'll make it possible in the next build to use a different skin file when over live tv.

I think it'll definitely grow on me to have this added functionality. sub Wrote:F1 is toggling in the next release, and I've fixed the Play button not causing the guide to go away. awesome

Having asked for this earlier in the thread, I was away over the weekend when it appeared. Have tested it now and it's fantastic! Thanks sub! Does the job nicely.
