I just installed GB PVR the other day in search of an app that could replace the bloated MCE PVR, and allow me to play content through a Playstation 3. Everything works out well for me except for two things.

1. How do you configure settings related to automatically pruning recorded shows ? Say set a limit so the recorded shows take up 70% of the HD then the PVR drops the oldest show until there is ample space.

If GBPVR can't do this by default does anyone know of a utility that will do this, there has to be one out there.

2. Is there a way to have GB-PVR save the recordings in one folder as opposed to by folder with the shows name ? This way it's easier to find recently recorded shows on the PS3.

Let me know if you need any more information. I greatly appreciate any assistance you can provide.

1. No. You can only set a limit of how many shows of each recurring recording are kept; it auto-prunes per show as new episodes are recorded. GB-PVR does not monitor your disk space at all.

2. Yes, there is a parameter you can set in Config.xml called <AutoCreateFolders>; set it to false.

I've never seen anything mentioned. You might be able to cobble up a batch file to do that, or find an outside utility to do it. Then you would just set the config.xml parameter <AutoRemoveMissingRecordings> to True, and then GB-PVR would purge any deleted recording from the database.

someone made a script that would prune the old stuff,
here's a link to a auto-archiver...it copies files to another location depending on free space, or age i think as well..

i can't find the auto-delete script anywhere yet, but i imagine that one could be adjusted to delete instead of copy...

ah, found it...on wiki no less..lol
