This must be a silly question, but I cannot get postprocessing.bat called by NPVR. I have put it in ........NPVR\scripts directory, but it doesn't get called when a recording finshes. If I run it manually it works fine, but i want an automatic call. I am obviously missing something basic. Help!!

Create a new thread for this, rather than spaming this one, and post your nrecord.log and I'll take a look.

I took the liberty of moving this support question and sub's response out of the sticky thread where it did not belong.

StevHodge, this is your new thread, post your log as sub has asked.

Thanks, sorry about that

I cannot find nrecord.log anywhere on my system. Indeed i cannot find a config.xml in the NPVR directory (was looking for somewhere to turn on logging). The only one I can see seems to relate to GBPVR 1.4.7. and has got itself into an unrelated directory (ie not ...../devnz/gbpvr or .../npvr) . I can see nrecord.exe in the NPVR directory

oh, good grief, the sticky thread you posted in originally tells you exactly where the log files are.... please read the sections titled "NPVR Directories" and "NPVR LOGS": http://forums.gbpvr.com//showthread.php?47686

also, I suspect if you don't know where the log files are then you probably have your postprocessing.bat in the wrong place, it goes in the Scripts directory in the NPVR data directory.

Thanks for all this
Attached a zip of two nrecord.logs
Post processing.bat runs fine when one recording is scheduled - you can see this in the .1 log - the show (...Edinburg..) starting at about 2316 yesterday. My postprocessing bat trasncodes to mpg and deletes the original ts. You can see it starting in the log.1 when this programe finishes
However if I schedule two recordings to finish at the same time things go pear shaped. Post processing.bat does not run (I can see this from the log file I made it create), the recordings get marked by NPVR as failed ('recording service not running') even though the ts files are there and in the right place, and nrecord.exe seems to crash. You can see the recording starting in log.1 at about 0014 and 0017. Nrecord.exe did crash later. when I looked this morning there was an MS abend notice on the screen (report error etc etc), and the log overflowed

Your logs don't show anything of interest. However I can tell that you don't have the current patches applied. Please refer to post 2 of the sticky thread and apply the patches.

Unfortunately that nrecord.log doesnt show a recording beginning or ending, so contains nothing relevant to this. Try again.

Great. NPVR 1.5.28 vs 1.5.28+patches is a night and day difference. Now you can enjoy the software.
