OK, if I open the table in SQLLIte3 management Studio it gives the appearance of having empty rows, but if I select individual colums I see data. Do you think emptying the epg and reloading it might help?
I've never used SQLLIte3 management Studio, so hard to know if its just the tool or really empty data. Are all the columns empty, or just certain columns

JimmyA Wrote:I emptied the epg and went into TV Guide to verify that it was empty. I then ran 'update epg' and monitored it. It took 50% of the cpu for a couple of minutes and thne dropped to anything between 0% and 5%, but still increasing it's mem useage. When it drops my system is barely responsive and I never get a return from the 'update epg'. I have to cancel the task manually. Then my system is back to normal and the epg has indeed been updated.

Any suggestions?
Ignoring your batch file for now, how long does it take when you click the 'update epg' button in the Settings screen? I'd expect it to take the same amount of time when you run it from your batch file. When you update the EPG from the settings screen, do you get listing? - if not, then you're probably feeding it a bad xmltv file.

The TV Guide looks fine from within nPVR and I can see data in SQLLite3 when I select individual columns. It's just that the 'Update EPG' in Channel settings and the command "C:\Program Files\NPVR\NextPVR.exe" -updateepgonly seem to get in some sort of loop and pretty much lock up my system.

If I cancel the task the epg has been updated.

I guess there could be a problem with my xmltv.xml file, although it loads fine with pvrx2.exe.

sub,

My guess is that it's a problem loading the epg_event table. It now shows to have 8402 rows. I cancelled the task a lot sooner this time. The TV Guide still looks good however. Could the process not be recognizing the end of the xmltv.xml file?

Do you have either an UpdateEPG.bat file, or PostUpdateEPG.bat file? If so, whats in them?

I don't have either. I have always used a customized bat file that runs as a scheduled task from Windows Scheduler.

Hit the 'update epg' button in the Settings screen, then wait for it to complete, then post your npvr.log. If it doesnt complete, let me know what it says on the epg status message box on the screen (and post the npvr.log).

The 'Update Epg' never returns. The status pop-up says 'Checking for any XMLTV listings' and does not change.

I dont think you posted the correct log file. It doesnt appear to show an attempted EPG update. It appears to show watching 'MLB Baseball' instead.
