GBPVR seems to find about half the channels when it scans on the HD Homerun... i can't find but seem to recall that there is a way to add those channels.

for example, i'm trying to add 124.450, which shows up fine on the hd homerun viewer, but gbpvr can't find it.

And for clarification purposes I searched the forums and can't find anything that's helping. some channels are showing and others are not on GBPVR config...

if you can sort out all the required parameters, you can manually add channels to the scan.cache file in the BDA directory, then they'll be available in the channel list. I don't know if the HDHR viewer gives you all the needed parameters; you should be able to figure them out with TSReader: http://www.tsreader.com/tsreader/index.html

124.450 does not appear in either the GBPVR scan or your Silicondust lineup. Does it show up in the HDHomeRun setup scan?

I have no idea how to use TSReader--can you help? I got some of those channels showing (i.e. 124.450), but i don't know what i'm supposed to look for to edit that file

all I can advise is to look at the data in one of your scan.cache files for a known channel, then look at that channel with TSReader. You can ferret out which parameters are which. V: is the video stream, A: is the audio stream. PCR is a clock reference, usually the same as the video stream. PMT is the program map table. This isn't exactly something I've done every day, more like once so I can't really offer step-by-step directions.

To help GB-PVR scan the missing channels, I think I've seen sub advise increasing the following parameters in config.xml:
Code:
<BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>1</BDAPsiScanStartupSeconds>
  <BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>15</BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds>
Maybe double each one and scan again.

Finally, I've seen sub say more than once "Try NPVR instead. It has much better scanning logic than GB-PVR".

I don't have TS Reader on this machine and it's been a while since I used it. I'll post some screenshots later tonight with instructions on how to read and implement the tuning parameters though.

@jx42: His logs indicated that he had already adjusted those config settings to 5/25. Increasing BDAPsiScanWaitSeconds even more may help though, maybe to 45.

OK, so i don't know which one worked, but increasing my PSI (I tripled the numbers) did the trick (I even picked up channels that my tv doesn't pick up). I also changed the HD Setup to Other rather than GBPVR. Again, not sure which of the two did the trick, but whatever i did worked, so i'm content.

However, I'd love the screenshot and instructions on how to read and implement tuning parameters Smile

PS--HD Homerun is fantastic once i got it working! way better than my Hauppauge 1600's qam/atsc input

I forgot all about doing this tonight, sorry. Bump this again tomorrow or PM me a reminder and I'll take care of it.
