It's the auto repeat on the record key on my MS-MCE remote. Because there is no feedback that the key has been pressed, I give it a long firm push. It repeats real
fast and before you know it I've got duplicate recordings coming out of my ears. A screen message as feedback would be good, but a test to see if it was already recording and if it is ignore the button would be better. Either way no biggy now I know.

I do still see occaisional stutters whilst the 400 second buffer file changes over. Is there a reason why it has to do it so often?

Server: Ci5 2500k, 3GB, Windows Server 2012, nPVR 3.5.7. 2xWinTV-DVB-T USB, 1xWinTV-DVB-T PCI, 2 x BlackGold DVB-T, 1xPCTV290E and 1xPCTV460E on Astra 28.2 E.

Assuming you've got an EPG setup for these channels, then you should already see feedback. As soon as I press Record, I see a message telling me it's "Recording [show name]"

Is this feature only available on digital tuners as a kind of multirec, or can it work on analog tuners too?

Do you mean pushing record while watching live tv? I've only really tested it on digital tuners (since that's all I use these days), but it'd probably work on analog systems that have more than one analog tuner available. (ie, no multirecord on analog)

Okay thanks, I guess I was hoping that from recording from a single tuner using a from of multirec on the open stream from analog was going to be possible. I miss this feature from GBPVR but having it would be also enable multiple client viewing of the same channel in live tv.

You can increase the slip file size; see post 3 of the NPVR sticky (link in my sig)

Not even knowing this feature, I tried this on a single analog (standard cable and HDPVR) tuner and with both of them livetv died and but recording started very quickly and this will be perfectly fine for me. The only minor issue is that the EPG doesn't get reloaded so it isn't "Red" and there is no choice to play from the guide.

Thanks sub, I can finally leave before the end of the liveTV program and find out what happened.

I do get the message, but not until a few seconds later.

I tried it on my server (client turned off) and it took 9-10 seconds to respond to a CTRL-K with the recording message.
I've attached the logs to see if they throw any light.
