Hi,

I have a problem sometimes when auto updating my EPG. The provider of my xmltv epg data has a very weird and annoying restriction limiting me to one single refresh in 24 hours, dont ask me why but thats how it is.
That Results in that my received xml EPG is blank if the update happens to occur at the same time every day, or thats my theory at least (I am not 100% sure what happens inside GB-PVR).

The only thing i can say for sure is that my EPG ends up being empty quite often causing me to miss recordings.

My questions is then, is there anything i can do about this? Can i make GBPVR only update it every 2 days (I get 7 days of EPG pr xml file). Or can I perhaps disable the auto epg update, and handle the update scheduling myself?

I am not sure what to do...

I could of cause write a batch script that downloads it locally and only replaces the old one on successful download

I use Alan Birtles xmltvgui to grab the UK EPG from the Radio Times source. http://www.birtles.org.uk/xmltv/ it is a dual gui/command line utility.
One of its recent updates stops it writing the XML output file if no shows are found.

I notice that one of the grabbers available is XMLTV_import. It May be possible to use this to read your EPG file and output to another that is not overwritten if teh input is empty. I have no idea if this would work in your case though.

p.s. I think there is some randomness built into the time GBPVR does its EPG update - AFAIR to spread the load on EPG servers.
