Change recording screen area?

Is there a way to set what area of the video signal is recorded? The reason being that when I record off of network channels, I get the bottom couple of pixels of the time-code for the show along the top of the screen on playback. It's a little distracting.

No, unfortunately. The area is chosen by the PVR card hardware. Software encoder cards have in the past leant themselves to this type of manipulation during recording, but its not really possible with the hardware encoder cards.
