It is actually exactly the same as it was before, if you look at the extract from my config the //Pvr-server/ near the top was from before I reinstalled the server & the one down the bottom was from after.....pass???

Can you run both sharehelper1 & 2 at the same time??

I am getting this error when installing

An exception occurred during the Install phase.
System.ComponentModel.Win32Exception: The specified service already exists

ShareHelper 1&2 are mutually exclusive but they do the same thing, it's just the install location of the files and logs, plus the fact that v1 isn't supported that differentiate them.

The one brain cell I have left isn't functioning very well at the moment I would say because not long after posting my last message I realised it was having the sharehelper loading with GB-PVR at startup that was allowing me to view pictures with NextPVR, does that sound right??

What I think has gone wrong is sharehelper is no longer starting properly as when I went into stop it it said it was already stopped & trying to start it I get a message "The sharehelper service on local computer started and then stopped (plus some stuff about this can be normal)"

Maybe try uninstalling them both (with /u) and then reinstall ShareHelper1 with /i If if still gives an error upload the gbpvr\logs\ShareHelper.logs

Follow up:

I uninstalled the old sharehelper for GB-PVR & this allowed the sharehelper2 to install properly I then had to have a break to do a bird feed & by the time I returned I remembered to look at the sharehelper logs in GB-PVR & found the issue was an already known one in that I had forgotten to setup a share on the server that just happened to be the first in the sharehelper config so none of them were mounting, on making this share & then starting sharehelper low & behold I could see my pic's again off the server.

One "odd" thing that came out of it was while testing I setup a source in Pictures for my backup photos on a drive that is not in the sharehelper config & I can also view these pictures fine on the NMT now??

Glad you got it. One of the recent updates to ShareHelper2 was to handle errors on individual shares and that fix wasn't applied in v1. It doesn't surprise me that other shares are allowed if there are not special account restrictions, once the Local System account has some access.
