Hi

I just bought a NTM A-110 and happily installed it tonight, have been using a MVP för a few years now and have been quite happy with that.

After installing with the NMTInstall (upgraded to 1.4.7) I could get no further, I have tried almost everything I can think of and have gotten a bit on the way.

My problem lies in my mediaserver with the Network browser. I do have Simple filesharing enabled. But I cannot access the mvpmc share on the machine (not from my other computers either, no matter what credentials I try) so there are most definatly something wrong with the server. I do have a couple of shares that I CAN access and when I put the files in one of those folders I can view GB-PVR.html but get no further...

And trying to access the share with other credentials (including Administrator) will not work either.

Is a complete re-install of the server the only option or can this installation be saved (I have been thinking of building a new system but as we are currently rebuilding our kitchen so I thought I would limit the expenses a bit)?

Hope you can follow my problem, I feel quite tired and will try to perhaps make more sense tomorrow.

Found a suggestion on another forum that I will try before I go to sleep:

start - run - "mmc" without quotes
file - add/remove snap-in
add...
security configuration and analysis

right click, open
enter a new DB name "setup security.inf"
open "setup security.inf"
right click, configure computer now...

Hopefully this will work...

Unfortunately I cannot help with getting a Windows share working especially if this is an older Windows install. You are probably having trouble with the guest account and you might need to use a username and password, hopefully someone who has done that can help.

To confirm that everything else is working I'd install mvpmcx2 to a USB to see it in action, to give yourself confidence that it works. Untick everything except

Install mvpmcx2
Install client
Write PCH scrips

and install to the mvpmc folder of your USB. Insert the USB the PCH and you should be good to go from GB-PVR.html on the USB drive.

I understand that you cannot help me with my windows share problem but I appreciate your effort to help me (and anyone else) with all sorts of problems :-)

I got it running on the USB and have tried a couple of videos and it seems to work.

I even got the NMT to view the contents of the mvpmc share after my trick above. BUT it will not start mvpmcx2 unless I choose start from USB which to me indicates some form of share problem.

Another thing that you might help me with is the setup of video. GBPVR shows up fine but when I view video it has the correct aspect but it is too small (recorded analog TV). This should be easy to correct I guess but I do not know where to start looking...

The zoom key at the bottom of the remote will toggle through fill, full, and crop video modes.

Thank you, I will try this when I get home :-)

I will also try to get funding (or rather permission) from the wife to build a new GBPVR server. The current one is a Dell GX280 2,6 GHz with 1 GB of RAM and it feels a bit slow sometimes.

I noticed yesterday that you were using the Mayhem3 skin. If you switch to the Blue skin for the NMT, it will be faster.

Also check the mvpmc forum, there are several posts on getting the mvpmc share working.

The zoom worked perfetcly, press twice and the picture fills our TV.

The Networking browse I am a bit confused by. I can now reach the folder from the NMT and open the GBPVR.HTML, but it cannot start mvpmcx2 from the share. I have to choose to start it from the USB stick. And then it works, will ry to investigate this further. I have also re-installed mvpmcx2 (deleted c:\mvpc, ran NMTINSTALL.exe and unchecked install GBPVR, put the MAC adress in and installed). No change, it does only show the HTML file and I have to choose run from USB.

The computer does not show up when I try to browse for it, I have had to manually add the Network share name to the NMT. But we can use it and that sets my stress back a bit (WAF a bit higher again). Will keep trying to solve this but perhaps at a slower pace than if it did not work at all. Perhaps the simplest solution would be to re-install tha computer but I feel a bit reluctant since I will build a new PVR PC in a few months time

Anyway, thanks for the assistance Martin, nad yes the Blue skin was faster but not pretty enough :-)
