Hauggepauge wintv pvr usb2 red light

anyone know what that little red light is on the Haugepauge wintv pvr usb2--it comes on once in a while... i've looked everywhere and found nothing!

My one comes on when the driver is loaded, so I don't know why your one comes on once in a while, we must have different versions. Thats how I know the tuner is working.

Mine is on all the time when the computer is on. Seems strange, as it doesn't flicker at all, unlike the Media MVP which does flicker when the remote is in use. A little visual feedback.

I've always wondered about that too.. Mine seems to be on very rarely. Maybe when the computer is on but no driver is loaded?

When I mean driver is loaded, I mean on the boot process once there its on all the time.

Don' wonder about that light. Sometimes even when I watch TV the light is OFF, and sometimes when my Notebook is off the light is on - so don't wonder

I changed drivers and the light didn't come on often but its related to the ir reciever, even with the light off the remote still works so don't worry.
