How Do I Skip DVD previews in NPVR?

This seems so simple, but I can't figure how to do it or if you can. If I play a DVD using VLC, it takes me straight to the main menu of the DVD. When I play a DVD using NPVR, it makes me sit through numerous previews (on most DVDs). How do I get straight to the menu or straight to the movie?

just hit Escape or the 'back' button on your remote

In GBPVR pressing the menu/i button on my Hauppauge remote would often take me to the main menu, skipping the crap. But in npvr it doesn't work. I dont think it worked with every disk on gbpvr but was definitely more useful than it is on npvr. I'd really like to be able to consistently skip this crap!

keep in mind if the DVD itself has the previews protected with the Prohibited User Operation flag then you won't be able to skip them any differently than on a set top player. VLC probably uses it's own navigator that ignores the flags (I don't know, I've never used it, just guessing); NPVR just uses with Windows dvd navigator, which of course obeys the flags.

Unless you use AnyDVD in which case the flags will be stripped from the content on the fly.

Which I do... (use AnyDVD) so will try esc on the keyboard to see if I need to play with my remote.ini

anydvd has settings to automatically skip adverts in it's settings..
