I edited the PCTV 80e entry in the bda.ini file in the GBPVR directory, so it now looks like this:
Code:
[Pinnacle 80e (QAM)] TUNING_TYPE=ATSC TUNING_SPECIAL=2 FILTER_TUNER=PCTV 80e/290e/460e BDA 2875 TVTuner C FILTER_CAPTURE= PCTV 80e/290e/460e BDA 2875 Capture PIN_TUNER_IN=Input0 PIN_TUNER_OUT=MPEG2 Transport PIN_CAPTURE_IN=MPEG2 Transport PIN_CAPTURE_OUT=MPEG2 Transport
This allows the channel scanning to start, whereas before it said it couldn't initialize the capture device. However, no channels are found.

I'm not sure if this is still applicable but search the registry for "ATSCMode" and if found, set the value to "2":

I found it in three places, and they were all set to "2".

I got further info from Pinnacle's newest version of their TV Center app that I hope will enable someone to help me in configuring this stick to work with either NPVR or GB-PVR. It has an advanced channel info display, and here's what it says about the clear QAM channels I would like to tune in:
Code:
Name Freq. Original Network Id Transport Stream Id Service Id Pmt Pid Pcr Pid Modulation Source Id KDKA-HD 507.0 1 4119 1611 6115 6116 QAM256 1 WTAE-HD 513.0 1 4120 1612 6125 6126 QAM256 1612 THIS TV 513.0 1 4120 1619 6195 6196 QAM256 1619 WPXI-HD 507.0 1 4119 1610 6105 6106 QAM256 1610 RTV 507.0 1 4119 1621 6215 6216 QAM256 2 WQED-HD 519.0 1 4121 1615 6155 6156 QAM256 1 WQED-D1 519.0 1 4121 1623 6235 6236 QAM256 2 WQED-NB 519.0 1 4121 1620 6205 6206 QAM256 3 WPCW 19 525.0 1 4122 1622 6225 6226 QAM256 1 WPMY-HD 519.0 1 4121 1618 6185 6186 QAM256 1618 WPGH-HD 513.0 1 4120 1613 6135 6136 QAM256 1

Thanks for your help.

It took some digging but I've finally found it. I'll test it in the morning.

Ok, I can't get mine to tune QAM at all on Windows 7 x64 either. I'll load up the Pinnacle app in the next couple of days and try it.

They have a new version of their app, which includes the latest drivers (I think). It's at http://www.pctvsystems.com/TVCenter6/tab...fault.aspx

It includes detailed channel information, available from a right click pop-up menu in the window while watching tv.

One thing, I had to leave the settings by clicking "OK" at the bottom right of the window after choosing signal source on the hardware tab before opening up the settings window again and then scanning for channels, otherwise it wouldn't find any.

Thanks. I was using a completely different download. I'll try it as soon as I can.

Did anyone come up with a solution to this? I have the same tuner and can't get it to scan any QAM channels. NPVR starts to scan and just sits there, eventually I'll try to cancel and get the attached error.
