With so many people still on GBPVR contemplating what they want to as their "Next PVR" and with a support forum that makes it appear like NPVR could be a nightmare I just want to say thanks to sub for sticking it out for the better part of 2010 and keep up the great work. I like it for so many reason now

- fantastic QAM and ATSC scan speeds
- superb HD-PVR support
- great NMT integration
- stable and dependable recordings (I might be lucky but I haven't missed one for months)
- accurate TS file skipping it's probably better on the NMT then the PC but I'm sure not for long.
- digital multi-rec is really working well, even watching the same livetv for one channel on multiple clients.
- amazing memory/utilization footprint, the image shows the impact of streaming live tv from my HDPVR at 720p h264/ AC3 5.1 to my PCH

To use a work I picked up on on this forum, "Cheers"

Thanks. There is certainly lots of effort being put in, so its good to hear people are appreciating it.

+1 from me! NPVR is working far better for me than GBPVR ever did, I could not live without it Cool

Agree. I am using the same 5-years old hardware but everything runs faster, especially NMT menu navigation and playback, I am impressed as I cannot tell the difference anymore. I love the default skin, but I need channel logos for one TV to fully switch to NPVR. Otherwise, I can live with this for another 5 years and not ask for anything more.

bump - great work, sub - no worries - I am testing NextPVR in the same system as my GBPVR install (see sig). Digital tuning for the HVR2250 was fast and simple, AND more sensitive to some of my troublesome clear QAM channels; setting up the HDPVR was simple; and the analog setup for the PVR500, although tedious, was simple. What's more, I can do all my playback with just the ArcSoft TME codecs - much better than the codec-hell setup in GBPVR. Comskip works great. Also, it's much easier to recover from Comcast channel fiddling, as well as EPG updates. I'm using the Wave skin, so I've got icons. Even the Hauppauge remote works.

I can't think why I missed this thread when it started?

I'm one of those "half way there" My old P4 machine has XP, gbpvr and all the tuners inside it. The "to be" new machine is W7, NPVR and a reduced tuner set.
Currently, viewing is done with npvr and some recording, but gbpvr is the main recording software still (sorry - hangs head in shame).
All I need is a clear day or two with no imminent recordings to do the big switchover.

Thanks very much sub for the immense effort you have made and for all the "behind the scenes" work that must have been going on between you and the testers. Not forgetting Martin, as without mvp then nmt, I wouldn't be here at all.

Triple and quadruple YUP Big Grin

NPVR is just so smooth in it's set up, the way it looks, the way it 'feels' (and the 'feel' is is very important) and as usual this community has gone out of it's way to just enhance and make the whole experience even better.

Wish I could donate to everyone Big Grin

+1 from me too

GB-PVR worked at a few things better by me, than the current nPVR release, but other things work much better within nPVR already. I have no installed GB-PVR anymore on any of my machines. nPVR for president. Big Grin

And for all "not so perfect" things on nPVR, i will disturb sub at the support-thread. Tongue

Thank you sub! Thank you UncleJohnsBand (NEWA)! And many thanks to any plugin- and utility developer. You all just make great work!
You like nPVR? Then please help pay the bills, and keep the project alive!

My happy NextPVR family

I've not removed GBPVR from my systems yet but haven't used it for many months. I've had very few problems so far and see no reason for me to go back. Guess I should just remove them for good.

I'm just waiting for SchedulesDirect support, and then I'll find out what everyone else is talking about!
