Version 2.6 is out and works, but I am getting a few database build errors (about 2 per 1,000 movies). I will iron out the last few bugs in a subsequest release, but this will get you going.

I figured it was something like that. The "NO to update" problem does not exist for me anymore as well. Thanks for burning the midnight oil, DH! Maybe netflix owes you a new mobo??? LOL

I'm back into Netflix viewer with the 2.6.0.0 update (from a really old version that was working fine until the Netflix change). Couple of observations:

Very stylish appearance!

With this update, you (at least I) need to login to Netflix in IE again and also the account linking window. However, the splash screen is always in front of both IE and dialog box, making it very difficult to enter the username, password and click OK. I finally managed to resize the dialog box window and move it to get out from under the splash screen. I prefer to not have splash screens, but if it is needed/wanted, there should be a way to manage (close) it or not have it interfere with required interactions with other screens.

After finally getting the log-in done, I got an unhandled exception. It did not come back after closing and restarting. I didn't do a complete re-install; just copied the 2 exe's and the ini into the previous version's folder. Also, I'm setup for queue-only, if that makes a difference.

Do you use the same Silverlight player that IE uses? I had to watch a movie from IE after the Netflix change broke your viewer, and it seemed "smoother" than in Viewer. My only complaint with Viewer is that the video is frequently a little "jumpy". This is with a wired network connection, BTW.

Thanks for the prompt support, as always.

Hey Mike,

Glad you like the new look. It took me more time to alter the program for background images than it took me to create the thing to begin with, so I'm happy to hear it is appreciated. Smile

Thanks for the heads up, I had completely forgotten about the login window. Fortunately you should never have to do that again. I can make the splash screen go away in that case. Also, if you get the unhandled exception again, copy the details here so I can troubleshoot.

As for the silverlight, yes it is the same. I actually use the .Net IE window browser (which is why you have to create a cookie in IE for my program to work), so it should function the same, unfortunately it doesn't completely. I am thinking about moving my code to visual basic 2010, maybe there is better functionality in the IE window in that version. I'll see what I can do with future versions.

A new question. I'm moving to an MCE remote and trying to find the easiest software to allow the remote to control Netflix Viewer. (I had it working great with the Hauppauge remote.) So, are the window names the same in the current version as in the earliest ones where Snooze (I think) developed the Haup remote settings? If not, can you provide the names and a description of each window. Thanks.

There are no new windows names that I am aware of.

Hey Mike,

I use eventghost with an MCE remote to control my entire computer. If you'd like I can send you my remote control file. Just let me know.

I've tried to use LMRemote Keymap and IR Server Suite for Netflix Viewer, but could not get either to completely work. Event Ghost looked hard to understand. (I think I have a congenital problem with all of these programs, they just don't use terminology and a structure that matches by brain's picture of how this is supposed to work.) If there is an Event Ghost file that includes both Neflix Viewer and GBPVR (PVRX2) I'd certainly like to take a look at it. @DH - Is your file different than the one that's included with the Netflix Viewer download? If not, you can PM me what you have and I'll give it a try. I'll also take a look at the one that comes with the download.

Thanks for the offer.
