I've seen several people saying they won't try NPVR until there is integrated SchedulesDirect support... why? There are at least three XML grabbers that support SD (MC2XML, XMLTV, XMLTVGUI). Sub does say he intends to add SD support at some point, but I don't get the idea it's really high on his list since there are alternatives.

While I somewhat agree, it is a little less work with SD integrated and I have had problems with MC2XML myself. I think I've been spoiled.

Only just noticed this thread too. I have just taken the plunge and backed up then deleted GBPVR...! All our viewing is done through the gbpvr, now npvr box and it's amazing! Very wife friendly and does pretty much everything we could want it to. HD/SD DVB-T and DVB-S in one box with a single EPG, dvd, bluray (with a bit of cheating, but hey) and any media file playback. Very much appreciate all the hard work that goes into this and the support from the forum. TV viewing would be crappy without it!

To add my tuppence to this thread

NPVR/NMT is a great combo....

faster.
prettier.
more stable than GBPVR (at least on my set up).
and with enhanced WAF.

OK there are a couple of minor 'bugs', but if you're still on GBPVR it's worth making the leap. IMHO

Big thanks to Sub.

For me NPVR is now more stable and more reliable than GBPVR. NPVR is a great achievement. Its simple and well designed.

I have used MCE and spent hours trying to make it more usable with MCstudio and Mediabrowser but its just not worth the effort. The 5 Channel TV Guide, menu structure and file managemnt are awful.

NPVRs simple, configurable, skinable menus and simple folder structure for recordings is so much easier to work with.

Many thanks to Sub and the community of plugin & skin developers for a superb PVR tool.
