lucille84 Wrote:Hi, running WinXP SP2, .Net 3.5
On first run I too got the unhandled exception messages - after killing the process and renewing the MSIE) login I ran again and the main program Netflix TX Desktop appeared to start the db build program but hung at step 1 at 70% complete.
Again, killing the process and emptying the MovieInfo folder and deleting the movieinfo.ldb - then rerunning Desktop produced the same result.
Running the Desktop prog only launches the database updater never see the desktop itself.
I do see that the movieinfo.ntf file is untouched and original size (write permission is enabled btw)
Changed time to renew back to 7 but the Desktop prog still appears to launch the Database Build prog.
Ooops - one time it did get complete step 1 and proceeded to step 2, during which it gave err code 14523 for each of the first 16 of 14523 movies then hung again.
I'd sure like to get this running-- do you have any ideas what I can do to help you debug this? -or that I can do differently?
Thanks
Hi lucille,
A couple of things to look for, please do all steps even if you are sure you've done them before:
1) Using Internet Explorer, go to http://www.netflix.com and if it asks you to login, then that is the problem (IE occasionally deletes your cookie). Log in and check the box to remember you. This is necessary for the database builder to work.
2) If you are in Canada there needs to be a line in your .ini file that says "Canadian=True" otherwise it should say 'Canadian=False"
3) Do you have version 2.6.0.0? If not, you need to upgrade, because any earlier version will no longer work.
Let me know the answers to these and I can work on it from there.
Thanks,
-DH
