I don't have any good news this is what I've done trying to resolve the access is denied issue
1. Rebooted cable modem
2. Rebooted firewall (Linux firewall been up since Nov last year without a reboot)
3. Reboot wireless AP
4. Reboot both computers.
5. Have nothing else to reboot..:-) could go out and start the car but don't think it will help..lol
6. I even went on Netflix and deactivate my PC and logged back in to Netflix to see if it would activate it again and it did (did this to make sure Netflix was able to add my PC back in the device list)
I have attached the new log files, yes I wipe the old logs to get you new logs..

Not sure what to tell you, it should be working. I'll need to send you a test version as well. It will follow tonight.

Thanks,

Thanks DH,

A separate question... while looking for other option to play Netflix to my TV's, the issue of all the current apps being "dependent on Silverlight" and thus being unable to be used by GBPVR via NMT to the TV. While I hadn't seen that mentioned as any part of the External Netflix Viewer requirements _ I would appreciate you clarification on that.

After getting this app working, I had been expecting (hoping?) to runn it as an external app inside of GBPVR.

Thanks,
TomH

Netflix viewer works fine for me as an external app in PVRX2. I don't recall any issues with Silverlight with this arrangement. I don't think NPVR has external apps yet. The only work with external apps is getting your remote to work with the external app.

Thanks for the info Mike (I struggling but getting good support from DH to try to get the External Netflix App working on my box)
- tell me, are you running any TV's off clients like the Hauppauge MVP? -or- a NMT like PopcornHour or eGreat?

EDIT: BTW - are you ready to test that A188 (great price) card on NPVR?
Are you using it for ATSC? How's it working out

You can set these up in NPVR on the plugins screen.

This isnt going to work for you on a device like that. It'd only work on a PC.

Netflix movies can only be run within silverlight enabled browsers, so I don't believe there is a way to use an extender with it. My app uses an embedded IE browser to show the movies, so it still uses Silverlight.

@Sub - my bad on the external apps on NPVR, thought I'd heard someplace that NPVR didn't have them.

@TomH - The A188 works great on QAM, haven't tried on ATSC. These cards have (had?) a problem on resuming from standby or hibernate. I RMA'd mine after having it for almost a year and they replaced it. I've only had it back for a few days, but seems to be OK so far. Not ready to try it on NPVR yet; PVRX2 does everything I need, especially the GraphRecorder plug-in for firewire.

Yes, I realize most of my Q's are just clear examples of a real lack of understanding of the current state of the technologies involved.
Not, really, trying to be argumentative at all, just wondering about alternatives... what about one of those little 'nettop' computers sitting next to the TV - running GB/NPVR (will it run on those little devils?) and also running the Netflix External app but using the nettop HDMI output & piping the TV ??

I'm not familiar with the software on the nettop computers, but if they have .net 3.5 & silverlight capabilities then my program will be able to run. If you need an earlier version of .net I can work with you on that. As long as you don't need to run the database builder on the computer I think I could go back as far as version 1.1.
