mvallevand Wrote:I setup a client on my ION for the first time since NPVR client support came out and I didn't have any stuttering from my HDPVR h264 recordings. However considering their relatively low bitrate of 13 Mbs, which has no issues on the NMT, I noticed that the typical streaming on the client was 40-110 Mbs and higher. I would suspect this high ratio is related to the retries that are in imagn's log's. I will try ota ATSC which have a higher bitrate later this evening.

Yes, it most likely relates to the following messages in imagn's logs. I'm trying to work out why it's happening.

Quote:14:14:35.778 Buffered data doesnt appear to be from correct part of file. Dumping data to rerequest.

Can you see if this patch helps? If it doesnt, please post the stream.log again.

I think will make a big difference I was up around 1% utilization before.

Yeah, I also suspect it'll make a big difference. The patch fixes two bugs that could load to high network utilisation.

Thanks for checking.

Thanks for looking into this. I have done some testing with the pach and it has made a huge improvement. I did encounter a problem when skipping forward, it would caise the stutterness, i tried to pause the video and then restart, it would play ok for a second or two and then stutter, but if ilet the video play from the beggining (this was only a few minutes) it as ok.

One of the files i was having trouble with was remomoved from the recording, i played it through the video library an still had some issues with it, but no stream log was created (but it was much impoved). It seems to skip a beat every nown and then. See log from problem described above

Thanks

Streaming is only used when you use Live TV or play from the Recordings screen. When you play file Video Library it's just like playing it from a local file system, and you wont get any stream.log etc.

sounds reasonable.

Thanks for looking into this for me, it is much improved with the patch minus the skipping problem described.

Thanks

Did it continue to stutter after skipping, or only for a short time?

It seemed to continue to stutter, but i didnt let it play for more than one minute. I will test again an see if leaving it for longer let it return to normal

It seems if i let it play for about 2 minutes it will correct itself

Edit: I found that when i skip forward and the video becomes stuttery, if i skip back once it corrects itself and plays fine

just thought i would add some other info incase its helpful
