Trying to get NPVR setup to migrate away from GBPVR. Have all 3 tuners setup (or at least, it should be), tried recording 3 things, and it was only recording with 1 tuner in the status. Tried to play the 1 that was recording, wouldn't play, just went back to the pending recordings screen. Tried to start cancelling the 3 recordings, got an error...and here it is:

Code:

************** JIT Debugging **************
To enable just-in-time (JIT) debugging, the .config file for this
application or computer (machine.config) must have the
jitDebugging value set in the system.windows.forms section.
The application must also be compiled with debugging
enabled.

For example:

<configuration>
    <system.windows.forms jitDebugging="true" />
</configuration>

When JIT debugging is enabled, any unhandled exception
will be sent to the JIT debugger registered on the computer
rather than be handled by this dialog box.

Not sure exactly what I did wrong, but I'm having a really rough time so far trying to migrate to NPVR.

Update: just rebooted, now I can't even get into NPVR. It just crashes immediately. Now what?

If it's the same problem I was having with analog tuners, fixed with this patch, then you might have to remove the bad recording records from the npvr.db3 to get npvr to start up, or maybe wait for the recording time period to pass.
What, me worry?

Patched, didn't crash this time, but didn't actually record anything either.

Ok so I completely blew away NPVR and re-installed it, patched it then tried to record something. It's creating a .ts file, but it's not playing it. Rebooted, tried to start the NPVR service, now I'm getting the error attached in the jpg. I'm about ready to throw in the towel, this migration to NPVR has fought me since day 1.

If you are running Vista or W7 you have to run the installer as Administrator. What OS are you running?

I'm out of town right now, but if you bump the thread in a couple of days (when I'm back home), then I'm happy to look into it for you. I'm sure it'll just be something minor stopping it working for you, since its generally working well for most people.

Thanks sub, I don't know why this move up has been such a pain in the ass! My GBPVR installation is really starting to show its age, and I didn't even know NPVR was out (been so busy, coupled with only saw GBPVR as the download on the main page) it's really time to move along, just wish I could Smile

Ok lets get back to trying to fix this problem (assuming sub is back from vacation)

Just tried to start the NPVR service, and got the same error code as was thrown in post #4. Not going any further until we get that cleared up.
