I'm currently using WinXP but am toying with the option of upgrading to Vista or Win7 so that my tuner will work. Some other benefits might help me make the decision and ease the $ pain.

Hi Spotty I use 4 dual AF9015 tuners on 3 systems some with 1 dual tuner and some with 2 dual tuners... from personal experience even if you upgrade to Win7 the AF9015 Dual tuners may cause problems , in my case NPVR would not tune the second tuner or select the 2nd tuner if the first was in use ... it caused no end of grief to get the AF9015 dual tuners I use to work ... so the answer to your question is upgrade to Win7 may not help your AF9015 dual tuner issue

I use a Dell 140G Hybrid with 2 AF9015 dual tuners giving 4 tuners and 2 Acer Atom R3600 unit with 1 AF9015 dual tuner each around the house ,,, they all run Win 7 Ultimate in my case ...
The problem was that I could tune the first tuner but not the second if I had selected or used the first tuner in any way ....
I spent ages moving back and forward from GBPVR to NPVR then different versions of NPVR ... but the problem was tricky to find ..... In my case to install the drivers you have to "force" windows to use the driver from the manufacturer when you install the USB tuner .......... I only fixed the issue by chance ... by installing software which "messes up the sequence that windows reports the AF9015 drivers to NPVR ,,,, I must say that the software which comes with the tuners works fine under Win7 or XP or Vista so I guessed it was something to do with how windows present the tuners to NPVR .... my fix works for me which I tested by doing clean installs on each of my systems ...
The result of my experience is that changing to Win7 probably wont solve the issues with the dual tuner AF9015 USB tuners they caused me a lot of pain ....
I did post what I did ,,,to solve the issue at my end with AF9015 units but other users could not repeat the fix

Yes. DxVA 2.0 renderer (EVR) for DxVA decoding of h.264/VC-1 if your GPU support it.

Ok I agree that DxVA 2.0 renderer (EVR) for DxVA decoding of h.264/VC-1 are benefits along with other features of Win7 but Spotty really has a problem with the AF9015 dual tuner units ... ,, my understanding is he is using the latest driver but still not functional ,,, if there are any users of AF9015 DUAL tuner out there who use XP ? can they chip in !

Spotty can you confirm that you have to force Windows to use the latest driver as it is not recognized so you browse and select the driver manually ?
also does the software which comes with your usb tuners work and receive TV on both tuners or watch and record more than one channel at the same time?
If this is so then the driver install should be ok and you should have the decoders to view DVB-T .... then the issue is just why NPVR wont work with the tuner ...
I know mine didn't work properly with NPVR but did with GBPVR ...
to make it work with NPVR was hit and miss ...

Yes thats the main problem, I'm looking at quick (creative?) solutions such as changing OS or getting a different tuner. Haven't yet heard of a double tuner that works easily.
I've got some more thoughts/ideas though, but I'll put them back on the original thread - http://forums.nextpvr.com/showthread.php...r-channels

I use a Hauppauge 2215 dual tuner that works fine and did so very easily. I also use Windows 7. I found that it handles video rendering much better than XP, especially when using hardware decoding. The only issue I had with Windows 7 when setting up NPVR (and PVRX2), is that you need to make sure to set the security to allow the program to be able to access the proper folders.
