When recording a show, I can't watch a second show (from analog or QAM). I have two Hauppauge 1950's plugged in, shouldn't have any issues watching a second channel...

But, when I try, I get "Unable find capture device" for a second analog channel (while recording a analog channel already) and when I try to watch a digital channel, I get "device failed to start".

I can watch recordings though.

I already read through that list. Couldn't ID any that applied to my situation. I'll revisit the page again...

Ok, I took the patch file and applied it. I can now watch a second analog channel while one is recording, but still can't view a digital channel (device failed to start).

When I record a digital channel, I can't watch another digital OR analog channel...

it looks like NPVR doesn't understand that each HVR-1950 can only do one thing at a time - it thinks each one is two separate tuners, one digital and one analog. I know how to solve this, give me a minute...

Those are how those tuners worked with GBPVR, each 1950 was an analog and a digital tuner. I had in essence two analog and two digital tuners with GBPVR...

And I thought that each could operate (analog and digital) at the same time. I could be wrong though.

Try adding these lines to the DeviceRules.xml:

Code:
        <!-- Hauppauge HVR USB2 -->
        <Filter name="Hauppauge HVR USB2 BDA Tuner/Demod" resource="Hauppauge HVR USB2" />
        <Filter name="Hauppauge HVR USB2 Video Capture" resource="Hauppauge HVR USB2" />

This will let the app know the analog and digital side of the tuner are linked, and can only be used one at a time.

ok, add this to the DeviceRules.xml and try again:
Code:
        <!-- Hauppauge HVR-1950 -->
        <Filter name="Hauppauge HVR USB2 BDA Tuner/Demod" resource="Hauppauge HVR USB2" />
        <Filter name="Hauppauge HVR USB2 Video Capture" resource="Hauppauge HVR USB2" />
