OK, this has een killing me and I'm really stuck now. With GBPVR, I had my computer set to go to sleep after 25 minutes and that was working fine. Now I've started using NPVR on the same computer (GBPVR has been uninstalled) but it will not go to sleep even with a 5 minute sleep time unless I exit the NPVR front-end program. With the NPVR record and other background processes running it sleeps fine, just not if the main NPVR front-end program is running. I've tried using the MCE Standby Tool program but I don't get many options in it since I'm running Windows XP Pro and not the Media Center Edition. Any ideas?

I can confirm this as well..

As soon as (no other changes, no other software turned off) I shut down the NPVR front end, the computer goes to sleep in 3 minutes.

If I leave NPVR front end on, the computer does not sleep.

I Idle at 0% with NPVR frontend off.

With it on, I'm idling at 30% on both CPU cores, all of it assigned to NextPVR in the windows task mangler.

Do you have DirectX installed?

Should we? I don't know if I do, I'll have to check later when I'm home.

As far as I know DX 9c, in VRM9 mode.

Edit: Confirmed by DXDiag.

Well, that installed alot of new things, and the cpu load is back to zero.

Thanks for the tip.

Edit:

That is what it was for me.. System goes to sleep like it should now.

Didn't think that pre-req applied to my system because I run DX 9c and windows xp (all up to date).
