OK, I think I need to send you a test version. I'll get something to you this evening. Can you in the meantime:

1) go to https://ca.netflix.com/WiViewingActivity and save the webpage and post it here please.
2) go to http://www.rapidshare.com/ and upload your movieinfo.ntf file for me and send me your download link. I want to see if the database is fully populated properly.

I'll have to wait to send the database until I get home, the dbase build util doesn't work here at work at all, it crashes 5 seconds after I run it.

You should be able to just open the main program and it should walk you through all the steps. Don't open the database builder directly the first time build the database. That guarantees that all of the prereqs are satified.

No it isn't Smile That is the instant viewing main page, not the recently viewed list.

After opening the full program a few seconds later it says the dbase is empty launching dbase builder then it crashes. All that happens is the MovieInfo folder gets created (empty), the movieinfo.ntf is the exact same md5sum as the blank dbase you attached for my to try so it don't get updated at all.
I'm not too worried about it not working on my work comp, its odd that it works fine in my virtual machine at home (well almost) but crashes right off the bat here, although it is a fresh install I've also installed SQL2000, SQL2005, SQL2008 and SQL2008R2, although all those services are stopped right now. Is there a way to increase the verbosity of the dbase build program?

after deleting the cookie and logging in I've got a bit more info, I ran the full program again which closed and started the build program which crashed after it got to the classics genre (10 sec) the error message came up but that status window stayed open and stuck at classics, I pressed close on the error message which also closed the build program, I've got some logs now though. The database is still the same md5sum as before so its still not getting updated at all

back at home, well I guess it did finish, the TX desktop loads and seems ok, I'll attached the database anyway
if I run database build manually now it just opens and closes, I guess thats whats suppose to happen if you've got a working database, I expected it to check for new movies managed to get it attached without using rapidshare, only 3766 movies/shows in Canada total, ouch

The database is fine, it appears to be fully populated. I am releasing a new version that has additional logging in it and also a few cleanups, so use the upgraded version the next time you need to do a database update. That should tell me when it is crashing, so I can figure out why. I have no idea why it is crashing at your work, it should have been fine once you got it going. Any way, let me know how it turns out.

Thanks,

To whomever it was that posted the latest review on Netflix, THANK YOU! I wish they would get rid of the stupid iPhone reviews too!

Alright finally got around to trying it again, its working. Cool program. AFAIK the only way to play Netflix Canada on a PC with an actual gui (not using the website) is this program!

Anyways I was getting that funny error again when it hangs on a movie requiring my to either logout of netflix then back in via web browser or sometimes IE says it needs cookies enabled in which case I close the browser clear out my cookies folder then re-login. All this done while the database builder continues to run. Well after the initial slow build, because I wasn't in the room and I kept coming back to it being stuck, now that the initial build is done I'm sure it'll be ok to grab a few new titles a week.

Also I can't exit from full screen, escape does nothing while it does work in IE, otherwise perfect.

attached are all the logs

I'll check on the code tomorrow, gotta hit the bed. Please try adding the 2 registry values to your registry and see if it makes any difference (see attached), this should help with the IE emulation.

The quick fix for the full screen issue: To exit full screen you have to press alt-F4, that will bring you back to the movie screen where you can fast forward, rewind, skip to next / previous episode, change movie dimensions (16x9 or 4x3). To reenter full screen you just have to hit F. For some reason the IE wrapper in my program doesn't act exactly like IE, not sure why, but I have found a couple of alternatives (firefox/safari wrappers) that I am investigating.
