There's an IP-address from India that has been trying to hack my ftp-server for months. Without success

I've blocked a few IP addresses, and made a couple of other minor server changes. I've now tentatively reenabled guest access. If the problem returns, the first thing I'll be doing is blocking guest access again.

have you looked at using one of the anti-spambot lists like http://www.stopforumspam.com? they have an API you can use, and they've also got a DNSBL you can query... surely vBulletin has support for such things?

I see that there is something called Spam-O-Matic now. johnsonx42 there goes your fun.

I thought the same too It has already caught 2 spammers, what will johnsonx42 do now!

Where did you guys see Spam-O-Matic mentioned? It is installed now, but I havnt seen any visual indication of it yet. The documentation didnt give a lot of info.

Ah, so it is. I'm not sure how I missed that before.

!@#$%^& this has been a frustrating morning for me.....

Is it just me or is the forum on a real go slow at the moment? It has just taken me 2 1/2 hours to catch up on the threads that would normally have taken less than 1/2 hour because it keeps stopping loading all the time then there will be a burst of it working as normal for 15/20 seconds then go slooooooooooooooooooow again, other sites are working fine with out any sign of going slow.

I haven't noticed any problems, if anything replies seem better.
