Since the start of Feb I have had problems with the EPG not displaying scheduled recordings in the morning when they were being displayed correctly the previous evening. All my recordings are “recurring” so don’t know if this applies to single recordings. My previous computer had a very similar problem but the motherboard failed so this is a clean install on a different computer.

After a restart yesterday everything was being displayed correctly but this morning NO recordings are displayed apart from the red time bar at the top of the screen. I presume that something happens during the EPG update to cause this problem. The symptoms do seem to vary as everything seemed to work the previous morning but the morning before that just the most recently scheduled items were missing from the EPG. The problem seemed to start after I added the NPVR Final patch and seemed to disappear when I twice reverted to NPVR patch 4, but that brought back the “Failed Recording” error.

Each night it when it does the EPG update, it deletes all the listings and reloads them. There was a big that could cause the old recordings to sometimes not get updated to the new IDs for the new listings after the reload, which could cause them to be not shown as red in the tv guide (though they're still listed in the Recordings screen, and will still record). This bug was present in all previous NPVR releases, but is fixed in the next release.

Thanks Sub, this seems to be my only remaining problem. The confusing thing is that the problem varies slightly each morning. Yesterday morning the EPG showed no scheduled recordings after the overnight update but today they all seem to be displayed correctly but if I try to add a new recurring schedule nothing is displayed and I have to go into “Recordings” to delete it. New single recordings are displayed correctly. I look forward to the next release.
