alright here are the logs after it hangs and retries 4 times on a video, I cancelled the update after it said to report the error to you.

also I noticed my cpu was at %100 usage on dbase build when it was hanging on a grab

So apparently this is a very common problem. Here are some more things to try, if these don't work i will get you a version that relogs you in.

1) Unplug router and modem, wait a few minutes, plug back in. Reboot computer.
2) Disable all firewall software, including Windows Firewall (control panel --> windows firewall --> Off)
3) Go to Internet Setting --> Privacy Tab --> Sites button --> add http://ca.netflix.com --> Click allow button
4) Log out of Netflix, delete all history, cookies, files (make sure preserve favorites is unchecked). Login as new user. Go to c:\documents and setting\[usual user name]\local settings\Temporary Internet Files\Content.IE5. and delete index.dat file. This will rebuild your internet explorere database when you log back in as you.

OK, thanks for trying. I'll get a version out to you that will log you out/in automatically. We can see if that works, although since this is a cookie recognition issue, it might not work. I really don't understand why you are getting this problem. I'll try and find a solution.

Hey mrplow,

OK, I went through and researched what might be causing the cookie problem and this version will add all the appropriate registry values. Copy over the three files in the attached zip and make sure IE is closed. Then run the database builder and it will add the registry values. Just make sure the ini file has the line "Cookie Trouble=True" in it.

If this doesn't work then I'll send over a version that logs you out, deletes your cookies, and logs you back in. For that I need to know if the following link works. Log out of Netflix and click the following link and let me know if it takes you to a login screen.

sorry it didn't work again, it got to movie 600 then hung, opening ie came up with that page saying you must have cookies enabled. Deleting the cookie and logging in again continued the dbase build.

New version attached.

The first time you open the program with Cookie Trouble=True in your ini file, the program will prompt you for your user name and password (separately). They will then be added to your ini file for future use. My program encrypts the password and user name so you can't just enter them yourself. Now if you have problems with the database build the program will clear your cache, log you out of Netflix, delete the Netflix cookies, and log you in. Then it will continue trying to update the database.

FYI, if you enter your username and password incorrectly, you'll need to open the main program, go to Options Screen and Uncheck Cookie trouble and recheck it (do not exit between). The program will then prompt you for your user name and password.

Let me know how it works.
