I've had to turn off the GBPVR machine for nearly 2 weeks, until I could get my replacement drive and find time to fix/upgrade. Managed to save all my recordings, just got to try and get them reimported - I screwed up something and they're not showing in GBPVR.

For what it's worth, this thread has convinced me to take the plunge to NPVR.

(So.. just need to figure out how to import the recordings there.)

Actually this thread is what got me to try it out too. I love it. I actually have abandoned my trusty old gbpvr program. I actually found one of the threads that had made me want to hold off. it was the aspect ratio on XP problem. But I have not had that issue on my XP Pro machine.

Great that 2.0.3 is out, ready to try switching from gbpvr :-) One question - you say:
Quote:(this is if you have screwed everything up)
Do you mean that if I have a normal, sane gbpvr setup, my old recordings will get imported automatically, and the above steps are only if my system is a bit screwed?

Forgive me, I'm sure I asked a few weeks ago about migrating data from gbpvr to npvr...

They won't get imported automatically but if you export them from GB-PVR's config you can import the RecordingDump.xml into NextPVR without a problem.

I mean to say I was more likely to read a thread like this which addresses the "why aren't you using NPVR yet" question, than trawl through a big bunch of them.

Genre search should be in NEWA. Genre is even listed under the search page, just there's nothing next to it. This would complete my transition and not make me consider going back to GBPVR.

At the moment, only TVListings/TVRecordings plugin supports genre, but it works well from what I can see. Provided your EPG har genre ofcourse.

I am now using the Schedules direct utility. By the way, i found out that it needs to be in the NPVR folder in program files for it to work properly. You may want to mention that in the setup instructions on the WIKI. Anyway, I can't seem to get the Genre pulldown to show up like in GBPVR. I am using the built in Scheduled Direct downloader and am getting my guide properly populated. However, the episode search does not have a Genre pulldown. it just has the "Genre" and it's empty blue space next to it. is there some option in a config file? my config-web.xml has <showGenre>singleGenre</showGenre> does that need to be changed?

log as follows:
