Can´t get NPVR - NEWCS - ACAMD to work

Yes, but this thread is about andcar's problems mostly. And he is on Vista as far as I can tell. Vista = W7 in most respects. I don't think his problems is due to incorrects settings for the COM port.

Well, he definitly has a problem communicating with the smartcard, and most likely that comes from wrong comport settings. Do you happend to know which type of smartcard he is using? (ie. conax, irdeto etc...)

I made a new try today to get this to work, and finally I found a way.
I changed the setting on the cardreader from AD-teknik by unmarking the "enable reset delay" in the configuration program for the card reader.
Then everything suddenly worked, but only once. If I start newcs after using the config program for the card reader everything workes. But if I close newcs and start it again it says "card 0500 on port COM9 failed".

There are two ways of getting it to work again.
1) Start the config program for the card reader and write the configuration again
2) Restart the computer

Is there a resetting problem or something?

Any ideas?

It is a swedish Boxer card, I think Viaccess.

Is it possible that the card is paired to the receiver box? Or can you use it in and STB?

I am using it in a very old Nokia receiver, so it is not paired to a specific box.

During the testing I only used one receiver card in teh computer.
I tried to add more users to newcs, i have two receiver cards and set NPVR to three instances at each card. Then it didn´t work anymore. Not even with two users and two instances on one card in NPVR. Switching back to one user it worked again as before, after a restart.
