Channel 4 HD and sat ini

Hi,

Before I spend time trying to work this out, does anyone know the 3 digit number I need to add the 282.ini so it can see the new DVB-S2 FTA Channel 4 HD (UK)? I'm using the old PVR2, but I thought it might be good to publise that all of you who bought DVB-S2 cards for the UK (and didn't really need them) do now!!

OK...I can answer my own question....

165 is the extra number, so:

1=12607,V,27500,34,165 in the 282.ini

i will post the scan.cache data in a sec when it has finished.

Hmmm...165 finds the channel, but I get no picture or sound. I'll have a fiddle around later because I don't want to ballz up my recording of "Quantum of Solace" in HD....

I'm still picking C4HD up fine as a scan, but no pic when I tune to it. Guess I will have to check that my dish is aligned right. Not sure I can find anything else wrong. Perhaps others could try?

You might be a bit premature, I believe CH4HD is available on freesat from April. I guess its still encrypted until then?

It's supposedly FTA now, ahead of its official launch.

Can you record from it? If so, try posting a short sample which would point at decoder problems if others can play it. If there's no file, then something is still up with the tuning.

Thanks....yes it is FTA now. I doubt if it is decoders as all the other UK and German FTA channels are fine. I think they are keeping the signal quality low as the channel isn't meant to be broadcasting over the whole of mainland Europe (broadcasting rights).....I'm guessing that it is there, but below threshold, so does not display.
