shows the start & endtimes being different to those in the filename by one hour.
Any ideas why this is?

I have a feeling (unconfirmed!!) that GMT/UTC is used "internally"

edit: having just looked in more detail at your extract - then I confirm it is GMT being used.

The use of Z at the end of the time indicates ZULU for GMT.

The reason I'm asking is that with PVRX2 I wrote an Autoit prog to edit & modify recording-dump.xml.

I need to change it to cater for recording-backup.xml.

Does the case matter, with <oid>1794</oid> & <OID>1159288</OID> ?

Case does matter. More importantly though, notice there is no two "oid" fields in this recording. Instead one of them is nested inside an <Event> tag, and identifies an event (aka 'show') in the EPG. The other identifies the recording.
