I was finally able to grab all of my logs. Assume I'm having the same problem autumist is having. I am referring to mulletback's post above when I note that I don't know how to do an ASVid.log. Is it created via a setting?

Paste this into notepad, edit the name to match your PC, save as ASVid.log, and move or copy the file to where your ASVid.ax codec lives:

[Main]
Computer Name=MyPC
De-interlace Mode=2
Enabled Output Type=1073741823
Error Skip=0
Frame Skip=1
Enable DeBlock=1
Enable Logo=0
Enable COPP=1
Enable DecoderStat=0
Enable Scramble=0
Auto SW/HW Switch=1

This file will save your changes as you change the configuration of the ArcSoft Video Decoder.

Thanks mulletback. Having no clue, I had tried putting a blank text file in the NPVR directory named ASVid.log. After trying every combination of filters, it was just another thing that didn't work Smile.

It was worth a shot but doesn't seem to be working. As I mentioned above, I can record something in NPVR and watch the recording file in WinTV. Likewise, I can watch the resulting file in NPVR, but if I try to watch live TV NPVR crashes every time. Sometimes it takes a minute or so, other times it is immediate. Would it use different filter graphs for each? Perhaps I should start a new thread?

Have you tried to pause live-tv immediate after it starts and let it pause some 15-30 seconds before resuming?

It took a while to get it to run long enough to pause it before it crashed, but it really does appear to work. I tried fiddling with "PrePlayDelay" in Config in hopes that it will provide the same function, but I guess PrePlayDelay isn't the same as pausing it? It doesn't seem to work. Yet, pausing it immediately does appear to allow it to function.

That might give Sub a clue when trying to hunt the bug.

If you create a c:\temp directory, then reproduce the crash, do you get an .mdmp file created in c:\temp?

You could also see if setting <HDPVRBufferLonger>true</HDPVRBufferLonger> in the <General> section of config.xml helps.
