I am letting it run the database build, will post back tomorrow (first day on my new night shift job, going in to work at 6pm tonight) with results.

You'll probably need to download version 2.9.7 before it will work. For some reason Netflix changed their error codes, so the API login wasn't working on 2.9.6. You will not need to rebuild your database. When you run the installer it will not overwrite your ntf or ini files, so you should be able to install and then run the program. Let me know if you have any problems.

richt Wrote:Working better. I tried the new file and got to a screen that should have listed my queue, but was blank and no keys worked. I deleted the entire contents of the application folder and 're-installed' and then un-zipped the updated file again. Ran program and was prompted to log in and link the account. After responding it started to download the movie info. When that completed, I was left at the same black screen with the word "Rated" and the top and then "Starring", Director", "Genres", "Rating", "Length", "Year Released". No movie info is displayed and no keyboard functions seem to work. This was further than I had gotten before.

Edit - Found Databasebuild log was showing no success in building db. Edited my firewall / web filter to allow unfiltered access to the NetFlix site. Downloading files now, with over 4 hours left. Will update once complete.

Yeah, just got home from work, installed 2.9.7 and bam! I am in! Thanks.

Hello,

I am sorry if this has already been answered, I could not find any refference to it. I installed Netflix viewer on my newly built Windows XP box with NextPVR installed. I ran the viewer indipendantly of NextPVR, it put me in to the database builder, it gets 58seconds in to it and closes, no warnings or errors. I checked the log I get this:
Start Time: 5/9/2011 7:42:37 AM
Records: 20
DownloadSGID(296), Myint=6, PageCount=6
DownloadSGID(623), Myint=4, PageCount=4
DownloadSGID(302), Myint=13, PageCount=13
DownloadSGID(306), Myint=6, PageCount=6
DownloadSGID(307), Myint=20, PageCount=20
DownloadSGID(864), Myint=15, PageCount=15
DownloadSGID(315), Myint=27, PageCount=27
DownloadSGID(2108), Myint=3, PageCount=3
DownloadSGID(2514), Myint=19, PageCount=19
DownloadSGID(330), Myint=3, PageCount=3
DownloadSGID(338), Myint=7, PageCount=7
DownloadSGID(343), Myint=1, PageCount=1
DownloadSGID(2310), Myint=2, PageCount=2
DownloadSGID(0), Myint=1, PageCount=1
PageCount=0 there was likely a problem with the internet connection, or the netflix website is unavailable. Aborting download

it is always at the same place every time, I managed to catch a screen shot as it closed the last time:

I am running Netflix Viewer Version 2.9.7.0

Somthing that I am stumped on is, I live in Canada, I set Canada=True, and went to rename movieinfo_canadian.ntf to movieinfo.ntf and the file movieinfo_canadian.ntf does not exist anywhere so I assume these are old instructions? or is there a missing file? (I tried reinstalling to see if it was just a bad install.)

Any help is appreciated.

Sorry about that. Attached is the ntf file you need. Apparently I need to check my installer, I must have left out a file. That should clear up your problem. Let me know if it doesn't.

FYI, I didn't change the version number, but I added the canadian ntf file to the setup.

Hi,

I am psyched to find your app. As a long time Sage User I thought I'd convert to WMC to make use of the Nextflix app, but am rather disappointed in WMC in general, compared to Sage, so it's back to Sage -- so I'm hoping to get your App running, but it exits after about 40 seconds, and I get this in the logs when I run the db build:

Records: 20
PageCount=0 there was likely a problem with the internet connection, or the netflix website is unavailable. Aborting download

I've attached the logfile from the movieinfo folder.

So not sure what to make of that... My Internet connection is fine. I'm running Windows 7 and have .NET client v4 -- do I need to downgrade to 3.5? I have logged into the netflix website via IE (which I never use) just to make sure it's working... and all seems well. The app never asked me for my Netflix login...

I don't even get any logs unless I "Run as Administrator" -- which seems odd.

Thanks,

-Pir

EDIT: FYI, you absolutely need .net 3.5 on your computer, but unless you specifically deleted it from Win7, you should have it. Downloading 4.0 ADDS 4.0, it doesn't replace 3.5.

Your log indicates that the program cannot log you in. Do the following:

1) go into internet explorer and delete all temporary files and cookies.
2) reopen the program, it should prompt you for your login credentials. If it doesn't, then let me know and we'll try something else.

Hi, thanks for your quick reply!

I've deleted cookies in IE, and I even made IE my default browser (it was firefox) and it still doesn't prompt me to login when I start Netflix Viewer. Odd. I also have Chrome installed on this machine, and both chrome and FF have the netflix login cookie. I'll try deleting the netflix cookie in all browsers and I'll let you know what happens.

I gave machine users full control and the program generates logs now without running as admin, though they're the same as before.

Thanks Again,

-Pir

I removed the netflix cookie from all three browsers and still NV doesn't prompt me... is there a way to force it to prompt?

Thanks,

-Pir
