That's one of my points (sorry if that did not stand out in my earlier post), this is exactly what npvr should do. The scheduling algorithm should have enough information to reallocate tuners. I know it is not straight forward, one might even have to ignore tuner priority, but if that's the price you'll have to pay for not losing recordings I think it is worth it.

Improving the algorithm is on my list, and there have been small improvements to it already, but its complicated (particularly when optional padding and live tv are thrown into the mix).

Thanks for the help.. I wasn't able to reproduce this last night, so hopefully it was a very unusual scenario. I had never seen that message before and I make use of multirecord quite a bit. I'll post back with the db if it happens again.
