I remember that there is a setting in IE in Windows 7 that can mess up the program. I need to search the forum to determine what it was, since I haven't had to deal with it for a while. I'll be back with you in a bit.

pir Wrote:Hi,

I am psyched to find your app. As a long time Sage User I thought I'd convert to WMC to make use of the Nextflix app, but am rather disappointed in WMC in general, compared to Sage, so it's back to Sage -- so I'm hoping to get your App running, but it exits after about 40 seconds, and I get this in the logs when I run the db build:

Records: 20
PageCount=0 there was likely a problem with the internet connection, or the netflix website is unavailable. Aborting download

I've attached the logfile from the movieinfo folder.

So not sure what to make of that... My Internet connection is fine. I'm running Windows 7 and have .NET client v4 -- do I need to downgrade to 3.5? I have logged into the netflix website via IE (which I never use) just to make sure it's working... and all seems well. The app never asked me for my Netflix login...

I don't even get any logs unless I "Run as Administrator" -- which seems odd.

Thanks,

-Pir

I am gonna be that guy who posts even though its already being dealt with... I am in the same boat, it no longer dies at 59 seconds. I get a little farther and it fails with:

Hi Jim,

Your situation is a bit different, yours appears to be losing your cookie midway through the update. A couple of questions for you:

Are you in the US or canada?
What OS are you using?
Have you tried the cookie trouble=true setting?

OK, I went back through the old posts and found a possible solution:

In IE: From the Internet Options dialog box, click the Security tab. Select the applicable Web content zone, and look for Enable Protected Mode check box. Make sure it is unchecked and try the program again.

Hi,

Thanks again for your help. I had already tried shutting protected mode off -- which didn't help, but what did (seem to?) help was adding *.netflix.com to the "trusted sites" list in IE -- though I still had to log in to the netflix site in IE and tell it to remember me, before NV would connect, it still didn't prompt me. It's now doing the download, I'll let you know how I make out when it's done.

The reason it isn't letting you log in through my program is Netflix changed their site address. I need to update the address in my program for the check. Right now it is only working for Canadian users. Let me know how it works out.

It did work, after I logged in manually and ran the program again. Now I have another issue, when I set it to use secondary monitor (my TV), it comes up OK at first but as soon as it finishes loading it moves back to the primary display. I guess it doesn't like the display resolution of my TV (640x480) -- if I manually move it back, it works OK, but I have to use the keyboard for that, somewhat defeating the purpose, since if I am going to use the keyboard, I can just use the netflix website, also when I play a title, it doesn't come up in full screen, I have to click the button to make it go fullscreen... One other nitpick is that it doesn't remember the queue sort order that I set between instances.

We need to get that secondary monitor issue cleared up, that will also fix the fullscreen problem. I'll send you a test version tonight, so you can generate some logs for me. As for the queue sort order, make sure you have selected the option to remember last viewed (in options menu), otherwise it resets the settings when you open the program.

One quick question for you, if you have it on your TV and you hit escape, does it move back to the first monitor?

Yes, that's exactly what it does.
