dhgb256 Wrote:Another question, how do you have the monitors stacked (virtually)? Is the 2nd monitor above/below the primary, or an extension to the right? Any difference if you change that?
The primary monitor is directly to the left of the secondary monitor. I'll try playing with the orientation, though I might not be able to do that until tomorrow. Thanks for looking in to all this.
pir Wrote:Yep, that fixed the secondary monitor issue, thanks -- however, now when I play anything that's not 4x3 not only doesn't it go into full screen automatically, but when I make it go full screen, the screen goes black. I can still hear sound, but there's no picture, and when I hit esc, it quits the player.
I had the same black screen with sound in full screen. Happened on both primary (lcd monitor) and 2ndary (plasma tv).
What worked for me was going into the Silverlight Configuration: start->programs->Microsoft Silverlight->Microsoft Silverlight
On the "permissions" tab, I "denied" anything regarding "stay full screen when unfocused". Then I had to go into the task manager and end any Netflix Viewer processes. Seems (at least on my PC) to stay resident even after exiting out of the viewer.
After I restarted the Netflix Viewer, I got pic and sound in fullscreen mode.
The only downside to doing this, for example, is if you have Netflix Viewer running fullscreen on the secondary monitor and you do anything on the primary monitor, Netflix Viewer exits full screen. It keeps playing on the secondary, just not fullscreen. Not a problem for me as it's on an HTPC and is only used for watching videos/
I got around the issue of Netflix Viewer not starting out in fullscreen by mapping a button on my Hauppauge remote to enter fullscreen mode.
I added:
GO={F10}
to each of the following sections of irremote.ini
[Netflix Movie Viewer]
[Movie Viewer]
[NetflixTXViewer]
I'm sure it was only needed in one of the sections, but I figured it was easier to add to all than to try to figure out which one
When I start Netflix Viewer, it does not start fullscreen. I simply wait for the movie to start and hit the "GO" button on the remote. This pulls up the movie desciption at the bottom of the screen. I then hit "GO" again and I have a movie in fullscreen!

Thank you for the reply! I would have never thought of that. As a thank you I'm going to fix the fullscreen issue, please try the attached and let me know if the auto fullscreen thing works now.
Also, note that I do not use all of the features (e.g. second monitor) in this program, so I rely of the kindness of strangers to let me know when i break something, so don't be shy about complaining

Cool! It goes fullscreen on it's own within 5 to 10 seconds of the movie starting.
I remembered you saying you didn't use a second monitor. Since no one else mentioned it not going fullscreen or opening on the second monitor, I figured it was just something wonky with my setup and created my own (now unnecessary) workaround.
Thanks for the fixes!

Not unnecessary, you can always use the button to check the info and then return to fullscreen I do that about 3 times on average for every movie I watch.

Oh and by the way, I think the reason the program wasn't closing properly is because it was on a continual loop trying to go fullscreen. Let me know if it closes properly now.

Yup, process terminates fully!
I know that Netflix keeps changing their site which wreaks havoc on your program. Is there any way to get it to list the episodes in a tv series? It used to be (several releases back) if you selected a show, it would list all episode to select from. Now it only shows the name of the program. When I hit play, it seems to play the last episode I watched. Sometimes it starts playing an earlier than "last watched" epsiode. I think there was a post about this a while back, but can't seem to find it now.
Thanks yet again!

The data is not accessible from netflix.com, so I can no longer download the episode names and info. They have made it so you can't see the episode names from the HTML code, so I can't scrape the website to get the info. I haven't been real psyched about it either, but if I change the way it works (i.e. use the API), then the Canadian users will no longer be able to use my program (they don't have access to the API in Canada). The best I can offer is the current setup and you have to rely on the episode forward/back buttons (remote codes: ctrl+right/left) to move between episodes. Since they are converting so many shows to the consolidated version, I will consider splitting the canadian and US versions, so I can make use of the API. Let me see how much effort would be involved. Right now I am still working on an issue Snooze brought up quite a while back that is proving much more difficult than I thought it would, so I will investigate the API when i finish and I'll let you know what I figure out.

That's what I've been doing. Thanks for the reply.
