While the CD was labelled like a legitimate Hauppauge CD, it included a couple inf files and driver files, along with SiliconDust's hdhomerun_windows20110815beta.exe. Nothing else, and no typical Hauppauge install software and nothing even labelled Hauppauge.
Over the weekend Hauppauge updated their support page to include a new CD download, but the link was busted until today, linked to a WinTV download instead. The new link at least includes what you'd expect from Hauppauge but I have no idea what to expect now. The SiliconDust guys told me my CD should *not* have included their software and they came across a little irked. Funny thing is, the latest beta software from SiliconDust recognizes the device in the Setup and Config apps so I'm kind of wondering what I'm going to end up with when I install the Hauppauge software.
The CD that was in my box is a CD-R and has a laser printed label stuck on it which says "WinTV-DCR-2650 Version 1.0". And the contents appear the same as your CD (including the hdhomerun_windows20110815beta.exe file). Since the hardware itself appears to made and CableLabs certified by SiliconDust, I'm not surprised that their setup and config apps recognize it. In fact, I wouldn't be surprised if the drivers have to come from SiliconDust for the CableLabs certification.
I'll check the Hauppauge website and see if there is a newer installation CD now. If so, I'll probably just use that one instead of the one included in the box.
