can't detect Hauppauge WinTV-USB Live 2

Does NPVR support Hauppauge WinTV-USB Live 2 device?
I have installed and see it working in TotalMedia Extreme 2, but can't see in NPVR Device setting.

On the same machine, I have also installed 2 Hauppauge HDPVR, they are working fine with NPVR. So now I just need to make it work either with USB Live2.

Please advise.

As the first person to attempt to use this device with NPVR, you'll need add a section to the AnalogDevices.xml. You'll also need to have the Hauppauge WinTV7 software installed so that the mainconcept mux is available.

If you run filtercheck.exe, and post your filtercheck.log, we'll tell you what to add to AnalogDevices.xml.

hi Sub, thanks for your prompt reply. I have attached the Filtercheck log. Please kindly advise what I have to do with that xml. Hopefully it won't mix up the information of my 2 HDPVR boxes.

I can add it in the settings -> device
but when trying the live tv / channel, it is black blank screen only. Other HDPVR still working. However, if trying in TotalMedia Extreme2, the USB Live2 is still working. May I have further advice on this? Thanks so much.

Try viewing a channel, then zip and attach the npvr.log/nrecord.log files and I'll take a look.

It looks like you haven't got any decoders selected on the Settings->Decoders screen

got it. after selecting one of the video decoders in the Settings, it works now. Thanks sub.

btw, is there any common preference on selection of decoder? in the list, it have: ffdshow Video Decoder, MainConcept (HCW) MPEG-2 Video Decoder, Microsoft DTV-DVD Video Decoder, Sonic Cinemaster VideoDecoder 4.3 (EMC12), Sonic MPEG-2 Video Decoder. About ffdshow, it's not working but I think something can be installed to make it work.

No. People use all sorts of different decoders.
