I don't care too much about renaming the db, I just want to be sure if it is not renamed with the file, that there is no problem. It is good to here it is automatically deleted - as I have been doing this manually for most of my recordings.

So, help me out here a bit and excuse my ignorance. The nscripthelper sounds good, but is this a .bat that goes in the script folder or is it an .exe I can download somewhere....? I see it referenced as nscripthelper.exe but you seem to be talking about a batch file???

Can you give me more detail information on setup, and how to exclude the comskip bit - I don't want to do too much at once and get myself into a mess. I have not found too many extras that fully work for me yet and I want to be sure it does before adding moreSmile

nscripthelper.exe is a program provided with npvr. The postprocessing.bat file I referenced is a script I wrote which uses nscripthelper. The part at the beginning that waits for comskip to finish does nothing if you don't use comskip. In fact in hindsight it may be redundant since there's another check at the end that makes sure the file isn't open, which ought to catch if comskip were still running as well.

If this was included in the download I can't find it on my system, nor can I find reference to it in the wiki...???

Maybe you mean it is built in and not a separate executable, which would imply that I can just copy your code and name it postprocessing.bat and place it in the script folder and it should run. Is that correct?

it's supposed to be in the npvr program files folder, usually c:\program files\npvr

as you just installed 2.2.6 it should be there, unless sub left it out by mistake. I know it was included with the 2.1.4/2.1.5 installers.

I've checked it's in my distributed files directory, so should be in 'c:\program files\npvr'.

Or, on 64-bit systems, in "C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR".

having confirmed you really do have nscripthelper.exe, then yes, the batch file I posted will work as-is (it makes no assumptions about where your recordings are, it gets everything from the path passed by NRecord). the only thing you might have to change is the path to the nscripthelper at the beginning, if you have a 64-bit system or have the npvr programs in a non-standard location.

by the way sub, that batch file I have goes through an awful lot of trouble just to insert the show subtitle into the file name... couldn't you support an alternate name map or two?

Yes, Found it in C:\Program Files (x86)\NPVR...I was looking in the users folders or program data folder. So I have modified the code to point to this directory. When/how exactly does the postprocessing.bat get triggered??? Can I run it now somehow to modify already completed shows? I tried to just run the postprocessing batch but it says the NScriptHelper.exe was unexpected at this time.

(later today)....Guess I needed a restart. It appears to be running now, except that it is not putting in the subtitle, but rather only leaving the first letter of the show name followed by =----. So I guess it did not find the subtitle. Does this assume that I have some other utility or plug-in installed and working????
